☁️ Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with 5-6 years of experience and strong expertise in AWS to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure for innovative Israeli deep tech startups. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of automating deployments, managing CI/CD pipelines, optimizing cloud costs, and ensuring high availability and security. Excellent communication skills, the ability to translate business objectives into technical infrastructure solutions, and a strong aptitude for remote work are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- 01Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
- 02Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- 03Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- 04Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and security across production environments.
- 05Collaborate with development, AI, and cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business and technical requirements.
- 06Translate complex business needs into actionable infrastructure designs and automation tasks.
- 07Manage container orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS) and serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway).
- 08Ensure compliance, security best practices, and disaster recovery planning.
- 09Automate repetitive tasks, improve operational efficiency, and reduce toil through scripting and tooling.
- 010Communicate effectively with remote teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure goals and incidents.
- 011Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing on DevOps best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-6 years of professional DevOps or SRE experience, with a strong focus on AWS cloud platforms and production-grade systems.
- Deep expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, Route 53, CloudFront).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred, or CloudFormation/CDK).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Proven ability to break down business objectives into technical tasks, excellent English communication, and self-motivation for remote work.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, CloudWatch).
- Knowledge of Git and version control best practices.
- Bonus: Experience with security tools (e.g., AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty), cost optimization, or integrating AI/ML workloads on AWS.
